Chapati Rolly

Looking for a way to make chapatis more fun?
Here’s a pretty food that is nutritious and quick.  Just repackage the traditional chapati and roll in some other valuable components as well.

2 chapatis
1 cup పప్పు (दाल) (dal)
1 cup పెరుగు (दही) (yougurt)
2 small tomatoes, sliced or chopped
1 clove garlic, sliced thin

Make any type of పప్పు. Pictured here is spinach-dal.  Cook it as thick as you like, without too much water.

Place a few spoons of dal in the chapati to form a bold line down the center.   Looking for an easy way to consume raw garlic*?  Here is your opportunity to insert a few thin slices.   Now roll up the sides to close the chapati.  Seal with some yougurt on top and garnish with tomato slices.

Alternative: Place dal, yougurt, and chopped tomatoes in small cups on a plate with chapatis. Family can sit around the plate together and roll their own or tear pieces of chapati, dip and eat.

* The immunity-supporting properties of garlic are said to be more potent in its raw form.  Thinly sliced, raw garlic can get past most  reluctant palates when mixed in dal, especially along with juicy fresh tomatoes.
